John Blalock
Co-founder and vice president
I am a sophomore at Augusta University, majoring in political science with a minor in biology. Growing up, my family instilled in me the importance of helping others, a value deeply ingrained by my grandfather, who served as a colonel in the Air Force. His stories of giving back to the community and supporting fellow veterans left a profound impact on me. I am driven by a desire to honor his legacy and contribute meaningfully to the lives of those who have served our country.
Throughout my lifetime I have participated in, organized, and contributed to numerous fundraisers and philanthropic efforts. However, I often find that the tangible impact of these donations on our local community is not visible. The Marrs Project was born out of a desire to change that. I wanted to create a platform where supporters can see exactly how their efforts make a difference, connecting them with the real-life narratives of the veterans they are helping. This initiative is not just about raising funds; it’s about fostering a deeper connection and understanding between our community and the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.
